Android apps
Android apps, built and looked after
I build Android apps. My own app, Vibepad, shows the approach: a simple idea, kept private and easy to use.
Case study: Vibepad
A soundboard app for Android
Use your own sounds
Add clips from your phone one at a time, or a whole folder at once, then play each one with a single tap.
Make it yours
Rename any button, pick its colour, and sort buttons into groups.
Keep it safe
Back up your whole board to one file and restore it on a new phone.
Private by design
Your sounds stay on your phone and are never uploaded.
Six languages
English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Italian.
Free or Pro
Free to use, Pro if you want more
Vibepad is free to use with one small banner advert. Pro is a one-off purchase with no adverts, and it lets you record sounds in the app, up to 5 minutes each. There are no subscriptions, and no pop-up or video ads.
- Load and play your own sounds
- Edit names, colours and groups
- Free: one small banner advert
- Pro: no adverts, plus recording in the app
- No subscriptions
Where Vibepad is now
Vibepad is currently in testing, so the app is not public yet. Its website says it is coming soon to Google Play for Android.
The Vibepad website also has a free sound library, with sounds you can play in your browser and download into the app, and a privacy policy that covers both the app and the site.
